Valuable information in preparing for an Industrial Commission Hearing can be found in the Hearing Officer Manual on the Ohio Industrial Commission website:

Why is this information important?  Lets look at an example:  in preparing for a hearing on Temporary Total Disability due to a psychological condition, Memo C5 provides that only evidence of disability provided by a psychologist, a medical doctor, or a doctor of osteopathy may be used.

Therefore, if you have a C-84 completed by a clinical counselor, you will not be able to get the period of requested temporary total paid.

Section R of the hearing officer manual provides information regarding procedural issues at hearings.  Issues such as witnesses and presentation of audio/video evidence are covered in detail.

It is a good idea before a hearing on your issue to review the hearing officer manual to determine if a Memo covers the substantive issue at hand or a procedural issue that may arise.
